YELPed this spot and discovered that it was a very interesting take of American bbq with a hit of Asian flavor! We ordered a little bit of everything and the food was great! Brisket was extremely tender and their side dishes were great too! I prefer the dirty rice and spicy cucumbers although the Mac and cheese wasn't my favorite. But overall the food was great!

I got crispy pork belly (self explanatory, so good!!!), char siu pork belly (soooo soft), beef ribs ($45/1 rib, pretty expensive but a little salty for my taste, only available on Sunday), and beef brisket (so good, melted in my mouth) For sides I got spicy cucumber (6/10), mac and cheese (5/10), potato salad (fruity hints with bits of raisin and green apple, i likey! 8/10), and banana pudding (not too sweet, 7/10)

The person behind this place has been around for a while, but this location is fairly new. I've been wanting to try her southern style barbecue for a long time. Especially since there's an Asian influence to it. The space itself is a converted house. Because I feel like this place is slightly under the radar compared to other popular joints in Southern California, the lines and crowd is not as crazy. The people here are very friendly and helpful as well. I got here close to closing time on a Saturday and there was virtually no line at the moment. There was still plenty of barbecue left so I was happy. Except there is no pork belly. I'm sure if you get there earlier there would be no problem getting some of this item which is one of the more popular. I came in and ordered half a pound of brisket, some macaroni and cheese, and the banana pudding. I would say the servings on the sides and desserts are pretty generous. You definitely get your moneys worth there. I would also say the brisket stands up to all the other great southern style barbecue places popping up in the area. it's super tender, a great smoke flavor, and a nice slight crunch on the bark. All the characteristics I look for in a delicious smoked brisket. I was able to find street parking fairly close by so that wasn't an issue either.

Amazing bbq that lives up to the hype. The smoke is perfect and the meats are tasty. Brisket. Amazing. Nice ring to the meat. Served with the regular sauce or the Korean kochujang sauce. Roasted pork (Siu Yuk). Asian roasted pork with crispy skin, smoked. Eat it with then Kochujang sauce. Heaven

We took a special trip to OC to try this place with some friends who live nearby. It was all of our first time at this complex. The space itself is awesome, with tons of outdoor areas for kids to play and explore. The food is delicious - I especially enjoyed the panang curry rice bowl, the pork belly char siu, and the sesame slaw. Both the banana pudding and the kaya bread pudding were awesome too! The batch of brisket we got was a little dry to my taste, which was disappointing, and I also wasn't a fan of the super creamy style of shells and cheese they served. But overall, it was a trip worth taking and a great experience sitting outside and enjoying food together with friends.

She's the Smoke Queen for a reason and I couldn't agree more! I got to try her House BBQ Pork ribs and they were so flavorful and literally melted off the bone. Her house bbq sauce was delicious but that gochujang bbq sauce was extremely addicting. The pork belly siu yuk was also extremely delicious (had to dip it into the gochujang bbq sauce because why not?!), the dirty rice and Mac and cheese were also the perfect sides for this meal. I didn't get a chance to try her brisket as I came a bit later in the day but believe me, I'll absolutely be back! Seating was not a problem as there's plenty and not crammed at all which is nice. Overall a wonderful experience. Chef Winnie, you are fantastic and super talented! Thank you for having us!

I've read articles about the origin story of "Smoke Queen BBQ" ... the proprietor's personal growth, in culinary and business; the beginnings of this brand as a pop-up experiment emerging from the Pandemic; and the evolution into its present incarnation as a brick-and-mortar restaurant. After all of the journalistic write ups and social media hype, I had to try the food; and I'm going to break up this review into two parts: the experience, and the food itself. Currently, this restaurant is open from 11:00am to 8:00pm on Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays. I visited on a Sunday afternoon at 2:30pm. My though was that if I went "after lunch", the line might be shorter. When I arrived, I waited in line 45 minutes to place my order. After placing my order, I was given a pager. I waited another 10-15 minutes to receive my food. Smoke Queen BBQ is located inside Garden Grove's Cottage Industries--it's an incubator for small business. The primary dining set up is under a covered outdoor porch. There are additional uncovered outdoor tables in a park adjacent area. As the weather was good, as there were a lot of other diners, the scene was like a lively picnic. (When the weather becomes less favorable, I suppose the restaurant will rely on takeaway business.) When I try a new BBQ restaurant, I order the beef brisket and baby back ribs (so I can compare them to other BBQ restaurants I've visited). I also ordered the pork belly. I eat these products without sauce, so that I can taste the base seasoning. The food was very good. However, based on writeups, my expectation was that the food would be a fusion of Western and Asian flavors. While the side dishes definitely were a hybrid of East-meets-West, I was surprised that the treatment of the brisket and baby back ribs was quite conventional. Nonetheless, the brisket was juicy, had good flavor and bark. The ribs were seasoned well, and the meat came off the bone easily. This restaurant has licenses to offer beer and wine. Would I go to Smoke Queen again. "Yes"-- if it was a group activity. If I were dining solo again, the answer would probably be "no". While I enjoyed the food here, I have to take into consideration the wait. As a solo diner, I just want to place my order and get my food. (And I know of another BBQ in the GG / Westminster area where the food is "just as good", but without the wait.) I am glad they are doing well, and I wish Smoke Queen continued success.

Waited for this location to open for a while, since I first tasted The Queen's BBQ! This time we tried the brisket and pulled pork with potato salad. The meat was delish, but even the sides and salads are different, in a good way. Located inside a village type of plaza, next to other businesses, and even a children's playground. Parking on the street is a little hard, but totally worth the effort! They are open til 4, but come early before they run out of options

1/2lbs of the brisket 10/10 for the texture and flavor because crispy edges and tender center. Overall one of the best I've had and in a while. 1/2 lbs of Pork Belly Siu Yuk. Was my favorite with the crunchy top and soft chewy bottom. The sauces they gave us were tasteful and complimented the bbq well! The recommendations from the staff were very helpful and they were efficient and quick with serving out food! Plenty of seating and shaded area and great place for the kids as there an area for them. All in the vibe was perfect and roomy. Will come back again with our family!

This place is amazing! Get all the meat selections you won't be disappointed. The set up in the eating area is nice. The only reason I gave it a 4 star vs 5 star was the sides were just ok to me. Please give this place a try.
